The Seasons Font Free Download
If you searched for a The Seasons font free download, here is the short answer: The Seasons is a commercial serif family, and its foundry, My Creative Land, does not offer a free or personal-use version on its official page. There are two legitimate ways to use it. You can buy a licence from the foundry, or you can activate it through Adobe Fonts if your Creative Cloud plan already includes Adobe Fonts.
The Seasons font free download: what’s actually available
My Creative Land sells The Seasons per style and in packs. In October 2026 the foundry’s own page listed these prices:
- Single styles from $29.99 each
- The Seasons Essentials (Regular, Regular Italic, Bold, Bold Italic) from $69.99
- The Seasons Family (all 10 styles) from $197.99
Those are starting prices for a desktop licence. Web licences (priced by monthly page views) and app licences (priced by number of app titles) are separate yearly subscriptions. The foundry says all of its licences allow commercial use.
If you already pay for Creative Cloud with Adobe Fonts, the Adobe route costs nothing extra. Adobe’s listing carries the family from Thin to ExtraBold. Its licence covers personal and commercial design work, web projects, PDF embedding, and video. Licences for mobile apps and self-hosted web fonts are not included and are sold separately by My Creative Land.
Sites offering a “free” The Seasons ZIP are not authorised by the foundry. At least one of them hosts a file labelled “FSP Demo”, which is how Fontspring names its demo fonts. Fontspring describes demo fonts as trial files for testing and comps only. They contain basic Latin with OpenType features and extended language support removed, and they are not licensed for finished projects, personal or commercial.

Design and character
The Seasons is a high-contrast serif that My Creative Land describes as “an elegant serif family with a strikingly chic look.” Adobe’s listing points to “softly sheared terminals and dramatic curves” across every weight. Strokes end in soft, angled cuts instead of flat or heavily bracketed serifs, which gives the family a vintage, fashion-magazine feel at large sizes.
The italics are the unusual part. Instead of slanting the roman, designer Elena Genova based them on humanistic scripts and wrote them with a Pilot Parallel Pen, a broad-nib calligraphy pen. Next to the upright, the italic reads like handwriting. One family therefore covers both a headline serif and an accent script.
The family dates from 2021. That is the year My Creative Land (formerly Mosquito Place) joined The Type Founders, according to Luc Devroye’s type design index. The foundry’s page now labels the family as updated and improved.
What’s in The Seasons font family
The current family on the foundry’s site has 10 styles: Thin, Light, Regular, Bold and Extra Bold, each with a matching italic.
Some retailers still list an older six-style version. In October 2026, Fontspring and FontShop both showed “6 fonts”, at prices that did not match each other. MyFonts no longer sells the family at all; its page says the font is no longer available for purchase. If you buy anywhere other than the foundry, check exactly which styles you are paying for.
Language support and OpenType features
Both the foundry and Adobe list Extended Latin and Cyrillic. The foundry’s specimens show Cyrillic local forms for Bulgarian, Russian and Ukrainian. Bulgarian in particular uses different letter shapes from Russian. A font with local forms switches to them automatically when the text language is set to Bulgarian in an app that supports the feature, such as InDesign, Illustrator, or Affinity Publisher.
The OpenType features the foundry shows are:
- Ligatures: certain letter pairs are drawn as one joined shape. Standard ligatures switch on by default in most design apps.
- Stylistic alternates: different versions of some letters. In Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop you pick them from the Glyphs panel or the OpenType panel. In Figma they sit under the type settings.
- Swashes: extended entry and exit strokes, shown in the foundry’s specimen images.
Canva and Cricut Design Space don’t give access to OpenType alternates. Fonts reach their extras in those apps only when the alternates are mapped to Unicode private-use slots (PUA). We couldn’t confirm whether The Seasons files do this, so if you need its swashes in Canva or Cricut, ask the foundry before you buy.
The Seasons font pairings and best uses
The foundry suggests branding, logos, magazines, product packaging, and invitations. Its high contrast does the most work at headline sizes. The hairlines in the Thin and Light weights get very fine when printed small or shown on low-resolution screens, so keep those weights for large text.
For body copy, pair The Seasons with a clean sans serif. Jost and Montserrat are geometric and plain enough not to compete with the serif’s curves. For long reading text where you want to stay in serifs, EB Garamond is calmer and lower in contrast. You rarely need a separate script font: the pen-written italic already handles names, short taglines, and invitation lines.
Licensing: personal vs commercial use
A licence bought from My Creative Land allows commercial use. The desktop licence is counted per person: the foundry states that “each person who installs the font needs a license.” Using the font on a website or inside an app needs the separate web or app licence. A desktop licence alone does not cover either.
Through Adobe Fonts, Adobe’s terms cover personal and commercial work, including logos, PDFs, web projects, and video, but the fonts stay active only while your subscription does. For a logo or trademark that a client will own for years, many designers prefer a licence bought directly from the foundry. This is general information, not legal advice; read the licence that comes with your purchase.
How to download and install The Seasons font
From Adobe Fonts: sign in to the Creative Cloud desktop app, open The Seasons on fonts.adobe.com, and activate the family. It then appears in the font menu of your desktop apps.
From a purchased download: unzip the file first.
- Windows: right-click the font files and choose Install (or Install for all users).
- Mac: double-click each file and click Install Font in Font Book.
If the download includes both OTF and TTF versions, install only one set to avoid duplicate entries in your font menu. Restart any app that was open during installation.
Free fonts similar to The Seasons

None of these copy The Seasons, and none has its pen-written italic. They are free on Google Fonts and cover a similar elegant, high-contrast look.
- Playfair Display: a high-contrast display serif by Claus Eggers Sørensen, with weights up to Black and matching italics. It is sharper and more formal than The Seasons, with crisp serifs instead of soft cuts, and its italic is a conventional serif italic, not a calligraphic one.
- Cormorant Garamond: Christian Thalmann’s Garamond-based display family, with very light weights and a graceful italic. It comes closest to The Seasons’ delicate, editorial mood and also covers Cyrillic, but its contrast is gentler.
- Fraunces: a variable “soft” serif from Undercase Type with an optical-size axis and a softness axis. Turning up the softness rounds the corners, which gets near The Seasons’ soft terminals. It has more personality and quirk, and its italic is playful rather than pen-written.
If you would rather pay for something in the same spirit, a few fonts we cover come close in mood: Stella Aesta is also a ten-style serif built around swashes, Isabella Grand pairs an editorial serif with a flourish-heavy italic, and Silk Serif and Aida are high-contrast serifs made for fashion and luxury headlines.
For a refined sans to pair with The Seasons, Optima has flared strokes with a similar calligraphic warmth.
For a classic Didone to compare, see our guide to Bodoni; Bodoni 72 comes free with every Mac.
