Olivie is a two-part pairing: a casual script with a loose, handwritten lean, and an all-caps sans with noticeable stroke contrast. The script does the talking — it has a relaxed baseline wobble and joins that feel drawn rather than mechanically connected, which puts it in the same family as dozens of Instagram-quote scripts on the market. It’s pleasant, but it doesn’t take many risks. The letterforms are narrow enough to set tightly without collisions, and the slant is moderate rather than aggressive, so it reads as friendly rather than romantic.

The companion sans is the more interesting half of the pair, honestly. High-contrast all-caps faces are less common as a support font, and here the thick-thin swing gives it a slightly editorial, fashion-adjacent feel — something closer to a nameplate than a workhorse label font. Because it’s caps-only, it’s clearly meant to sit underneath the script as a subhead or tagline, not to carry paragraphs. Together the two typefaces do what a duo is supposed to do: contrast in texture and formality while sharing enough proportion that they don’t fight each other.

Character set and features

Olivie Script carries the bulk of the functional weight, with a full upper and lower case, numerals, punctuation, and 90 ligatures. That’s a genuinely useful number of ligatures for a script this size — enough to break up repeated letter combinations and make longer phrases look less templated, provided you’re willing to hunt through a glyph panel or use an app that supports discretionary ligatures. Without that step, the script still works, just with more visible repetition in common pairs. Multilingual support across Western, Central, and South Eastern European character sets is a practical inclusion if your work touches those markets.

Olivie Sans is deliberately limited: uppercase only, numerals, punctuation, no lowercase at all. That’s fine for a two- or three-word lockup but rules it out for anything resembling body copy or even a short descriptive line. Treat it as a display accessory to the script, not a standalone typeface.

Use cases

This duo is built for branding moments — logotypes, packaging headers, social graphics, invitation suites — where you need a warm, personal-feeling script paired with something sturdier underneath for a tagline or business name. The smooth stroke quality suggests it prints cleanly, which matters if the end use is foil, letterpress, or packaging rather than screen only.

Where it struggles is scale and range. The script’s ligature-dependent charm mostly disappears at small sizes, so keep it for headlines and short-form display rather than dense text. And because the sans has no lowercase, you’ll need a separate typeface if the project needs body text, captions, or anything longer than a line or two. As a focused branding pair for boutique, wedding, or lifestyle work, it does the job without overreaching.
