The contrast is low to moderate, and the strokes stay fairly even in width, which keeps the face from feeling delicate. What stands out is the rounding at the joins — bowls, arms and serif ends all seem to have had their corners sanded down, so the overall texture is soft even where the structure underneath is fairly conventional. It’s a vintage reference filtered through a slightly cartoonish hand, closer to packaging lettering from mid-century advertising than to a book serif.

What isn’t present is any indication of multiple weights or an italic companion — this appears to be a single-style release, which matters for how you plan to use it. Tangelo is built for short bursts of text rather than continuous reading. Logotypes, badge lockups, product labels and packaging headlines are the obvious targets, and the rounded serif treatment will read well on anything that wants a nostalgic, handmade signal — think small-batch food packaging, craft branding, or retro-themed event material. It also has a place in editorial headlines where a single distinctive display line is needed above a plainer body face.

At smaller sizes the rounding starts to soften the letterforms into each other, so this isn’t a font for setting paragraphs, captions or anything below display size. It’s also worth pairing it with a quieter, more neutral typeface for supporting text, since Tangelo’s personality is loud enough that it doesn’t want competition from another characterful serif nearby. Used within its lane — short words, generous size, plenty of space — it does its job cleanly and without pretension.
