Emitha Script Font Free Download

Emitha Script

There is no official Emitha Script free download that we could find: Emitha Script is a commercial handwritten font from the Supfonts foundry, sold on Creative Market and MyFonts. A desktop licence on Creative Market lists at $19 per seat, and MyFonts sells the two-font family for $25.

Emitha Script free download: is there an official version?

Neither official listing offers a demo or personal-use file. The Creative Market page sells four licence types and mentions trial fonts only as part of its enterprise contract, not for this product. The MyFonts page lists the two styles with prices and no demo. Our searches of DaFont, FontSpace and Behance turned up no free Emitha either.

That means a free Emitha Script download from a third-party site is not coming from the designer, and it would not give you the right to use the font. Here is what the official Creative Market listing includes:

  • Emitha Script in OTF and TTF.
  • Emitha Swashes, a second font of decorative strokes, also in OTF and TTF.
  • Multilingual support, upper and lowercase letters, numerals, punctuation and ligatures.
  • Licences: Desktop $19 per seat, Webfont $19, E-pub $30 and App $152 at list price, with promotional discounts shown when we checked in October 2026.

Design and character

The Emitha Script font looks like a signature written quickly with a fine pen. The stroke is very thin and almost monoline, with only slight thickening on some downstrokes. In the specimen above, rendered from the licensed font files, the name “Emitha Script” shows the two things that define the font: big, sweeping capitals and a tiny, fast lowercase.

The capitals carry the drama. The E and S are drawn as wide loops that spread well beyond their letter space, and several capitals start with a lead-in stroke from the left. The lowercase is small next to them, with tall, narrow ascenders and descenders that drop a long way. The t has a crossbar that stretches far to the right, almost like an underline for the next letters. The letters lean right and mostly join.

The numerals and punctuation are drawn in the same hairline stroke and are quite small. The listing description calls the numerals the weakest part of the set, and in our specimen they do look lighter and more hurried than the letters.

Because the stroke is so fine, Emitha needs size: at the pangram size in our specimen it already looks faint.

What’s in the Emitha Script package

  • Fonts: two, Emitha Script and Emitha Swashes. The font files name the family simply “Emitha”.
  • Formats: OTF and TTF.
  • Glyphs: 346 in the Script font, including upper and lowercase, figures, punctuation, accented letters and ligatures.
  • Emitha Swashes: a separate font holding what the designer calls a “large set of Swashes and Strokes”, meant to sit under or around a word. You type them like ordinary characters and position them yourself.
  • Version: 1.000. Not a variable font.
  • Designer: Dmitriy Chirkov, according to the font files, published by Supfonts. MyFonts gives its debut there as 11 October 2018.

Language support and OpenType features

The Script font covers Basic Latin and Western European characters, so English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch and the Nordic languages are covered.

Two OpenType features are built in:

  • Standard ligatures replace certain letter pairs with a joined design so they connect more naturally. They are on by default in Adobe apps, Affinity apps and web browsers.
  • Discretionary ligatures are extra joined pairs that are off by default. Turn them on in the OpenType panel in Illustrator or InDesign, the Typography panel in Affinity, or with font-variant-ligatures: discretionary-ligatures in CSS.

There are no Private Use Area characters, so the ligatures can only be reached in an app with OpenType support. Canva and Cricut Design Space will show the basic letters but not the discretionary pairs. The Swashes font is a different story: because its strokes sit on normal keys, you can upload it to Canva or Cricut and type them directly.

Best uses and font pairings

The designer recommends Emitha for “invitations, monograms etc.”, and the font’s shape agrees. Use it for names on wedding stationery, a signature under a photo, a beauty or florist logo, a greeting card headline or a quote on a print. Add a stroke from the Swashes font under a name for a finished, signed look. Avoid body text, small sizes, all caps and thin lines reversed out of dark backgrounds.

Pair it with something sturdy and quiet. A light, widely spaced sans in capitals, such as Montserrat or Raleway, sits well under an Emitha name. For classic stationery, a serif like Cormorant Garamond or Playfair Display keeps the formal tone.

Licensing: personal vs commercial use

Creative Market sells Emitha Script under its standard font licences. The Desktop licence covers one person per seat and, per the listing, uses such as logos, print, merchandise and images for websites and social media. Using it as a web font on a live site, in an e-book or inside an app needs the Webfont, E-pub or App licence. MyFonts sells its own licence types. There is no free personal-use licence. Check the licence text on the store you buy from; this is a summary, not legal advice.

How to install Emitha Script

After you download Emitha Script from your store account:

Windows: unzip the file, right-click the OTF or TTF files and choose Install. Install both Emitha Script and Emitha Swashes.

Mac: double-click each font file and click Install Font in Font Book. Pick one format, OTF is usually best, so the font menu does not show duplicates.

Free alternatives to Emitha Script

If you wanted an Emitha Script free download to save money, the three free Google Fonts suggested here are legal, but they are casual handwriting fonts and very different from Emitha. None of them is a thin connected script, and none comes with a swash set. They make sense if you want an informal, hand-lettered feel that is easy to read at small sizes.

  • Gochi Hand is a heavy, rounded marker-style hand with unconnected letters. It is much bolder and more playful than Emitha and holds up well at small sizes.
  • Gaegu looks like neat pencil printing, upright and unconnected, with wide spacing. It reads as friendly and childlike rather than elegant.
  • Architects Daughter is based on the print lettering of architects’ drawings. It is clear and casual, with a much larger x-height than Emitha.

Emitha Script FAQ

Is Emitha Script free?

No. It is a paid font on Creative Market and MyFonts. We found no official free or demo version, so an Emitha Script free download from another site is unlicensed.

Can I use Emitha Script commercially?

Does Emitha Script work in Canva and Cricut?

Yes for the letters and the Swashes font, which you can upload as normal fonts. The ligatures need an OpenType-aware app such as Illustrator or Affinity Designer.

Who designed Emitha Script?

Dmitriy Chirkov, per the font files (MyFonts spells it Dmitrii Chirkov), published by Supfonts.

What pairs well with Emitha Script?

A clean, light sans in capitals such as Montserrat or Raleway, or a serif such as Cormorant Garamond for formal stationery.
