SLTF Boxroom Font Free Download

SLTF BOXROOM
SLTF BOXROOM

SLTF Boxroom free download searches lead nowhere official: SilverStag Type Foundry sells this modern display serif as a commercial font, and we found no free demo or personal-use version. Licences start at $39 on Creative Market and MyFonts, and Fontspring listed it from $24 when we checked in October 2026.

SLTF Boxroom free download: the official options

SilverStag offers SLTF Boxroom through three official storefronts:

None of these pages offers a trial file. The Creative Market description does promote five free fonts in exchange for joining SilverStag’s newsletter, but that is a separate offer. It does not say SLTF Boxroom is among them, so do not count on it. The “trial fonts to test” note on Creative Market belongs to its Enterprise or Custom licence and is not a Boxroom demo.

Any other site offering an SLTF Boxroom free download of the full font is not SilverStag, and its file carries no licence. Since you are paying either way, compare the stores. The price gap between them was $15 for a desktop licence when we checked.

What SilverStag says the design is

SilverStag calls BOXROOM a bold, expressive serif that mixes vintage elegance with a contemporary edge. Two features stand out in the foundry’s description:

  • Sharp, extended serifs with decorative details on certain letters. The listing names O, Q, E and F.
  • Over 65 ligatures and alternate letters, which is where most of the font’s personality comes from.

We have not examined the font files, so we cannot describe each alternate. The official preview images on the Creative Market listing are the best way to see the decorated letters before you buy.

SLTF Boxroom is a single style. MyFonts lists one font, Regular. There is no italic and no bold, so it works as a display face rather than a full text family. It appeared on Creative Market on 16 October 2024 and on MyFonts on 5 November 2024.

Languages and the 65+ ligatures

SilverStag says SLTF Boxroom supports more than 400 languages. The foundry does not publish the full list on these pages, so if you need a particular script or a rare accented letter, test it in the MyFonts or Creative Market preview first.

The ligatures and alternates are OpenType features, and how easily you can reach them depends on your app:

  • Illustrator and InDesign: the Glyphs panel (Window > Type > Glyphs) shows every alternate for the selected letter. Turn on discretionary ligatures and stylistic alternates in the OpenType panel.
  • Photoshop: select the text and open Window > Glyphs to swap in alternates.
  • Word: open the Font dialog, go to the Advanced tab and set Ligatures to “All”. Word does not offer a glyph-by-glyph picker for unencoded alternates.
  • Canva and Cricut Design Space: neither has an OpenType panel, so you will mostly get the default letters. Build the word in Illustrator, export it as SVG and import it as artwork.

Licences: which one you need

Prices on Creative Market when we checked in October 2026:

  • Desktop: $39 per seat
  • Webfont: $39, shown on sale at $33.15
  • E-pub: $99, shown on sale at $93.15
  • App: $499, shown on sale at $493.15
  • Enterprise or Custom: on request

Under Creative Market’s font licence, Desktop covers unlimited personal and commercial projects, including print, packaging, social media and ads. Using the font on a website as live text needs the Webfont licence. Embedding it in an e-book or an app needs the E-pub or App licence. Each user needs a seat, and the files may not be shared. Fontspring and MyFonts have their own licence terms, so read the one for the store you buy from. This is general information, not legal advice.

Best uses and pairings

SilverStag recommends SLTF Boxroom for branding and logos, editorial design, packaging, advertising and websites. With one weight and decorative capitals, it fits these jobs:

  • Magazine and book cover headlines
  • Wordmarks for boutiques, restaurants and fashion labels
  • Labels for wine, coffee, candles and cosmetics
  • Website hero headings, if you buy the Webfont licence

Because Boxroom is busy, pair it with a plain partner for body text. A neutral grotesque such as Inter or a geometric sans such as Jost keeps the contrast clear. For an editorial look, a quiet text serif such as Source Serif 4 also works below a Boxroom headline. Save the ligatures for one or two words per layout, or they lose their effect.

How to install SLTF Boxroom

On Windows, unzip the file, right-click the font file and choose Install. On a Mac, double-click it and click Install Font in Font Book. Restart open apps so they list the new font. If you bought a Webfont licence, use the web files with @font-face on your own site, within the pageview limit set at checkout.

Free alternatives to SLTF Boxroom

If the price rules it out, these three Google Fonts are a legal stand-in for an SLTF Boxroom free download. They are free for commercial use under the SIL Open Font License. None has Boxroom’s decorative ligature set, so expect a cleaner result.

  • Bodoni Moda is a high-contrast Didone with an optical size axis and italics. It gives a fashion-magazine feel without Boxroom’s ornaments.
  • Libre Baskerville is a sturdy Baskerville-style serif built for body text on screens. Choose it when you need a readable serif with bold and italic styles.
  • DM Serif Display is a high-contrast display serif with an italic. It is the nearest free choice for headlines, though its letters are plain by comparison.
