TAN Mignon Font Free Download

TAN MIGNON FONT
TAN MIGNON FONT

If you came here for a TAN Mignon free download, the honest answer is that there is no official free version: TAN Mignon is a paid art deco display typeface from the foundry TanType Co., licensed through Creative Market. A desktop licence was $17 per seat when we checked in October 2026.

TAN Mignon free download: what is official and what is not

TanType Co., the foundry of designer Novia Jonatan, sells TAN Mignon on its Creative Market listing. That page offers paid licences only. It has no demo or personal-use file, and we found no free TAN Mignon on any other TanType-run page.

Any TAN Mignon free download you see on another site is not from the designer, and using it would leave you without a licence.

What the listing shows, as of October 2026:

  • Font files in OTF or TTF format, per the listing’s FAQ; the product is also marked as a web font.
  • Desktop licence: $17 per seat.
  • Webfont licence: $17, shown at $14.45 with a discount.
  • E-pub: $34 ($31.45); App: $136 ($133.45).

The listing was created on 8 March 2021 and the download is about 450 KB.

Art deco architecture as the starting point

TanType describes TAN Mignon as “a simple display typeface inspired by the art deco architectural shape,” and adds that it is “perfect if you want something minimalistic with a twist.” Luc Devroye’s catalogue of TanType fonts lists Mignon among the foundry’s 2021 releases and calls it “a stylish display serif.”

Art deco buildings of the 1920s and 1930s are known for tall, stepped and geometric forms. The designer’s pitch is that TAN Mignon brings some of that structure to letters while keeping the overall look simple. We have not examined the font files, so check the official preview images for the details before you buy.

The word “mignon” is French for cute or dainty, which matches the light, minimal tone the listing describes.

Projects that suit a minimal deco display face

A display serif with deco influence is a headline font. It shines at large sizes and in short text. Good matches include:

  • Wordmarks for hotels, bars, jewellers and fashion labels that want a 1920s reference without heavy ornament.
  • Wedding and party invitations with a Gatsby or vintage theme.
  • Menu headers, wine labels and perfume packaging.
  • Book covers and posters for historical or noir subjects.

For body text, use a calm partner. Josefin Sans has a geometric, vintage feel that sits well beside deco shapes. Raleway is another light geometric sans, and Cormorant works if you want a serif for longer paragraphs.

Desktop, web, e-book or app: picking the licence

Creative Market sells TAN Mignon under its standard font licences. In plain terms, from the Creative Market font licence page:

  • Desktop: install on your computer for “unlimited commercial and personal projects,” including print, packaging, merchandise and social media. One seat per user.
  • Webfont: embed the font on websites you own or control, up to a pageview limit set at checkout.
  • E-pub: embed in one e-book or digital publication.
  • App: embed in one app or game, where it must not be extractable.

The licence page also has conditions for logos and trademarks, so read it if TAN Mignon will be part of a registered brand mark. This is a general summary, not legal advice.

Installing TAN Mignon on Windows and Mac

Unzip the file you download from Creative Market, then pick one format to install:

  1. Windows: right-click the OTF (or TTF) file and choose Install. Choose Install for all users if an app cannot see it.
  2. Mac: double-click the file and press Install Font in Font Book.

Restart your design app afterwards. Installing both OTF and TTF versions of the same font can cause duplicates in font menus.

Three free Google Fonts in place of TAN Mignon

All three are free under the SIL Open Font License, including for commercial work. None is an art deco serif, so each solves a different part of the brief.

  • Bebas Neue is a tall, condensed all-caps sans serif. Its narrow vertical shapes give a hint of the deco skyline, but without serifs.
  • Bungee is a blocky display face inspired by urban signs, and it can be set vertically. It is louder and heavier than the minimal look TanType describes.
  • Lobster is a bold connected script with a retro feel. Use it if you want vintage character more than geometric structure.

For the clean, architectural deco look in particular, none of these fully replaces the TAN Mignon font.
