Hudson Font Free Download

Hudson
Hudson

If you searched for a Hudson free download, first make sure you have the right Hudson. This page covers the Hudson handwritten font by HaKi Studio on Creative Market. It is a commercial font with no official free version that we could find, and a desktop licence cost $15 per seat when we checked in October 2026.

Hudson free download: none from the designer

HaKi Studio sells Hudson through its Creative Market listing and nowhere else that we found. The page has a live preview for typing your own text, which is the only free way to try the font. There is no demo file. The “trial fonts to test” line on the page is part of Creative Market’s Enterprise or Custom licence, not a Hudson trial.

So a site offering a Hudson free download of this font is not HaKi Studio. Even if the file works, you get no licence with it.

A licence from the listing includes:

  • Hudson.otf, Hudson.ttf and Hudson.woff
  • A single style (the listing names only “Hudson”)
  • A 156.67 KB download

HaKi Studio published the listing on 19 August 2024. The $15 Desktop licence covers both personal and commercial work, such as printed invitations, social posts and client logos. Websites and apps need their own licences, covered further down.

Which Hudson is this?

Hudson is a popular font name. Creative Market alone has several unrelated fonts that use it, each by a different designer and each with its own licence:

The Hudson on this page is the one in the HaKi Studio shop, listed as “Hudson, a Handwritten Font by HaKi Studio”. A licence for one of the others does not cover this one, and the reverse is also true. Check the shop name at checkout.

What HaKi Studio says about the design

The listing text is brief. HaKi Studio calls Hudson a font “with new style” and lists the projects it has in mind: quotes, logos, blog headers, posters, branding, letters, invitations and stationery. Creative Market files it under Handwritten fonts, and the listing’s related searches include cursive, signature, calligraphy and script.

That differs from some descriptions online that present Hudson as a clean, sleek modern typeface. Based on the official listing, expect a hand-drawn script. We have not examined the font files, so we will not describe its letters. The five official preview images on the listing are the best guide to its look.

The listing does not mention ligatures, alternates, swashes or a supported-language list. If you need accented characters, test them in the live preview first.

Hudson licences and prices (October 2026)

  • Desktop: $15 per seat
  • Webfont: $15, on sale at $12.75
  • E-pub: $30, on sale at $27.75
  • App: $120, on sale at $117.75
  • Enterprise or Custom: on request from Creative Market

Creative Market’s font licence gives the Desktop buyer unlimited personal and commercial projects, including print, merchandise, packaging and social media. Use on websites and in apps is allowed only as flat images. To load Hudson.woff on a live website you need the Webfont licence. Buy one Desktop seat for each person who installs the font, and do not share the files. This is a plain summary, not legal advice.

Where a script like Hudson works

Handwritten scripts read best in short bursts. Going by HaKi Studio’s own list, good jobs for Hudson include:

  • A signature-style logo for a photographer, stylist or coach
  • A quote card or an Instagram post with one line of text
  • Names on wedding invitations, place cards and thank-you notes
  • A blog header or a YouTube thumbnail title

Set it large and keep the phrase short. Give the rest of the text to a plain partner. Raleway, Poppins or Cormorant Garamond are free choices that leave the script to do the decorating.

Installing Hudson and using it in common apps

  • Windows: unzip the file, right-click Hudson.otf and choose Install.
  • Mac: double-click Hudson.otf and click Install Font in Font Book.
  • Word and Photoshop: restart the app after installing, then pick Hudson from the font list.
  • Cricut Design Space: it reads fonts installed on your computer. Install Hudson first, then find it under System fonts.
  • Canva: upload the OTF to your Brand Kit. Font uploads need a paid Canva plan.

Free Google Fonts instead of Hudson

These three are free under the SIL Open Font License. Only one of them is a script.

  • Lobster is the closest. It is a bold, connected script with a retro sign-painting feel. It is heavier and more uniform than a pen-drawn handwritten font.
  • Abril Fatface is a heavy, high-contrast serif for headlines. It gives a stylish fashion look, not a handwritten one.
  • Righteous is a rounded, Art Deco-style display sans. It suits bold, friendly titles where a script would be too delicate.

For a closer free match, the Handwriting category on Google Fonts lists many free cursive and signature styles.
