Grace Font Free Download

Grace
Grace

A Grace free download does exist, but only for personal use, and it may not be the same file you get with a licence. Grace is a bold condensed display font by the foundry Linecreative, and the full version is sold on Creative Market from $24.

Grace free download: the personal-use file vs the full licence

Linecreative posts a font called Grace on its FontSpace page. FontSpace labels it freeware for non-commercial use, and the designer’s note says personal use only, with no commercial use allowed. The page links back to the designer for a commercial licence.

Two details make us cautious about calling it identical to the retail font:

  • FontSpace dates the free Grace to 2021, while the Creative Market listing was created on 10 July 2024.
  • The free page describes a regular condensed TrueType font. It does not mention the ligatures and Western European language support the paid listing promotes.

Use the free file to try the look in a mock-up. For anything you sell, publish or hand to a client, buy a licence.

When we checked in October 2026, Creative Market charged $24 per seat for a Desktop licence. The same design is on MyFonts, where it is listed as “Grace moon” from $18, and on Fontspring from $24.

What the designer says Grace is

Linecreative’s listing describes Grace as “an elegant Bold Condensed font display with a classic touch, with lots of ligatures.” MyFonts credits the design to Ari Juanda, and sells it as a single style.

In practice, “bold condensed display” tells you three things. The letters are heavy, they are narrow, and they are made for large sizes. Narrow, heavy letters let you fit a long word across a poster or a book cover at a big size. That is the main reason designers reach for this kind of font.

We have not examined the font files, so we will not describe specific letters or ligature pairs. The eight preview images on Creative Market are the official reference for how it looks.

Inside the Grace package

Here is what the official listings state:

  • One style: Regular, according to MyFonts and Fontspring.
  • Ligatures: “lots of ligatures,” per the designer.
  • Languages: Latin Western Europe, plus numbers and punctuation.
  • Files: Creative Market’s specs list it as a web font and its FAQ says downloads contain .OTF or .TTF files. The download is about 90 KB.

“Latin Western Europe” usually covers languages such as French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. It does not promise Polish, Czech or Turkish letters. Type your text into the preview box first if you need those.

Getting the ligatures to show

Ligatures are joined letter pairs built into the font. Most apps switch standard ligatures on automatically, but some do not:

  • Illustrator and InDesign: open the OpenType panel and make sure Standard Ligatures is on. Use the Glyphs panel to see and insert every ligature.
  • Microsoft Word: ligatures are off by default. Open Font, then the Advanced tab, and set Ligatures to “Standard Only” or “All.”
  • Canva: upload the OTF on a paid plan. Standard ligatures normally appear as you type the letter pair.
  • Cricut Design Space: it does not read OpenType features. If a ligature does not appear, copy it from Character Map (Windows) or Font Book (Mac) and paste it in. This only works if the glyph has its own code point.

Best uses for the Grace font

The designer lists business cards, branding and editorial layouts. A bold condensed face is also a natural fit for:

  • Magazine covers and article headlines.
  • Book covers, especially thrillers and non-fiction with long titles.
  • Event posters where a date and a name must stay large.
  • Product labels on tall, narrow packaging.

For body copy, pair it with something lighter and wider. Libre Baskerville keeps the classic tone the designer mentions. Lato gives a neutral, modern contrast.

Licence terms in brief

The Creative Market version uses the site’s standard font licences. According to Creative Market’s font licence page:

  • Desktop ($24 per seat): unlimited commercial and personal projects, including packaging, social media and paid ads. The font must appear in rasterised form, not embedded.
  • Webfont ($45, shown at $41.40): live text on websites you own or control, up to the pageview limit set at checkout.
  • E-pub ($120, shown at $116.40): one title.
  • App ($192, shown at $188.40): one application.

Creative Market also limits fonts in logos: the font should be modified and not the dominant element of the logo. If you plan a Grace logo, read that clause first. This summary is not legal advice.

How to install Grace

On Windows, unzip the folder, right-click the font file and choose Install. On a Mac, double-click the file and click Install in Font Book. If you tried the Grace free download from FontSpace before buying, uninstall it first so you do not end up with two fonts called Grace.

Free alternatives to Grace

These Google Fonts are free for commercial use. They share Grace’s weight, but each takes a different route:

  • Anton is the closest in shape: a heavy, condensed sans for headlines. It has no decorative ligatures, so it feels plainer.
  • Alfa Slab One is a heavy slab serif. It is wider than Grace and reads as poster or vintage print rather than elegant.
  • Shrikhand is a bold, curvy display face with an italic lean. It is playful where Grace aims for classic.
