Boycot Ranco Font Free Download

Yes, there is an official Boycot Ranco free download, but it is a personal-use demo only. The designer, Ideal Eksis, posts it on FontSpace for personal, non-profit and charity projects, and asks to be contacted before any commercial use. For client work, merchandise or a brand, you need a paid licence, which started at $30 on the designer’s own site when we checked in October 2026.

Boycot Ranco free download: the demo and its limits

The Boycot Ranco page on FontSpace was uploaded by the designer’s own idealeksis account. Its notes say the demo is “for PERSONAL USE ONLY” and that the fonts are allowed only in personal projects, non-profit and charity use. FontSpace labels the licence Freeware, Non-Commercial.

That makes the demo fine for testing the look in a mock-up, a school project or a personal invitation. It is not a licence for anything you sell or use to promote a business.

The full version is sold in two official places:

Four variations of a 70s groovy font

Ideal Eksis describes Boycot Ranco as “a vibrant retro groovy font that captures the essence of the 70s with a modern twist.” The Creative Market listing adds that it has playful curves and bold, funky letters, and names posters, logos and social media graphics as its main uses. Both listings date it to 2024.

The designer’s site lists four variations:

• Regular: the upright base style.
• Italic: a slanted version for movement and emphasis.
• Outline: letters drawn as outlines only.
• Extrude: letters with a three-dimensional extruded effect.

The same page says the font comes as OTF and TTF files, with a basic Latin character set (capitals, lowercase, numbers and punctuation) and multilingual support. It does not list ligatures or other OpenType features, so we do not claim any.

We have not examined the font files. Check the official preview images, or the online typetester on idealeksis.net, to see how your own words look before buying.

Which Boycot Ranco licence do you need?

The two shops use different licence systems, so the cheapest price is not always the right one.

Designer’s site (idealeksis.net)

According to the Ideal Eksis licence page, the $30 Standard licence covers:

• 1 user and up to 3 computer installations.
• Up to 10 commercial and personal projects.
• 1 website with up to 10,000 viewers a month.
• End products for sale, up to 5,000 sales.
• 1 social media account that is not monetised.
• Logo use, but not for a trademarked logo.

The Extended licence ($350 in October 2026) adds up to 3 trademarked logos, unlimited social media accounts, unlimited end products, apps and games, and printed books. Other tiers listed include Webfont ($50), Social Media ($220), App and Game ($390) and Logo ($590).

Creative Market

Creative Market’s Desktop licence was $40 per seat, with Webfont at $84, E-pub at $114 and App at $314 (sale prices shown in October 2026). Creative Market’s licence terms say Desktop covers unlimited commercial and personal projects, but web, games and print-on-demand use only as flattened images.

Read the licence for your exact use before paying. This is a summary, not legal advice.

Where Boycot Ranco works

A groovy display font needs room. Good fits for the Boycot Ranco font include:

• Gig posters, record sleeves and festival flyers with a 70s theme.
• T-shirt and sticker designs (check the licence’s product-sales limit).
• Short social media headlines.
• Café, ice-cream or vintage-shop logos.

Keep the rest of the layout plain. Work Sans or Karla work well for dates, prices and small print under a bold retro title.

How to install Boycot Ranco

Unzip the download, then:

• Windows: select the OTF files, right-click and choose Install.
• Mac: double-click an OTF file and click Install in Font Book, or drag several files into Font Book at once.

If you are moving from the demo to the full version, uninstall the demo first so the two do not clash in your font menus.

Free alternatives to Boycot Ranco

If the personal-use limits of the Boycot Ranco free download do not fit your project, these Google Fonts are free for commercial use under the SIL Open Font License. They are not copies of Boycot Ranco.

• Righteous by Astigmatic is a rounded display sans with a retro, Art Deco-influenced feel. It is the calmest of the three and the easiest to read at smaller sizes.
• Monoton by Vernon Adams draws letters as stacks of parallel lines. It gives a disco-era neon effect, which is a different take on retro from Boycot Ranco’s bold curves.
• Alfa Slab One is a heavy slab serif. It brings weight and a vintage poster feel, but with straight serifs instead of groovy shapes.

None of them has an outline or extruded style, which is one thing the paid Boycot Ranco family offers.
